Need for Women Entrepreneurs

In the past few decades, the role of women in society has changed drastically. Nowadays women are occupying the corporate positions which were stereotyped as the male-dominated region. Not only are they giving neck-to-neck competition, but also outpacing them in some of the areas. Still, there’s a long way to go.
Women constitute around 48% of the Indian population, but, the participation in the economic activities is only 25%. According to Forbes India, women comprise about 30% of senior corporate management positions in India, which is relatively higher than the global average of 24%.

Some of the many reasons why we need more of Women Entrepreneurs are:
1. Narrowing Gender gap: With Women entrepreneurs coming into the limelight, women all over the world are inspired to come up with their own ideas. This, in turn, leads for more job creation for women, which ultimately helps in reducing the gender gap in the workforce. If such a trend is set, then the next generation of women is more likely to emulate their success.

2.Social Change: Increasing women entrepreneurship can bring in a tremendous social change, making women financially empowered and independent. This trend can boost their confidence as well as can bring them to the platform of satisfaction and motivation through self-achievement goals. This also brings the feeling of overall well-being to the whole family.

3.Economical change: Women entrepreneurs have a unique tendency to build and maintain long-term relationships. They have more effective communicational and organizational skills than their male counterparts. More women in the workforce lead to higher economic growth and productivity. As per a report published by Goldman Sachs “Enabling women, particularly as entrepreneurs, benefit future generations because women tend to spend more on their children’s education and health, which should boost productivity as well."

4.Safety and Culture at the Workplace: Studies have shown that women-owned firms tend to have a better company culture and transparency. Those firms tend to have better employee relationships horizontally and vertically. The organizations which are led by women are more sensitive towards women safety issues. Those sorts of companies implement strict anti-harassment policies and guidelines to ensure women safety. Also, with the growing trend of the new generation of young and confident women, going out to work, the need for their safety calls in for the biggest concern which just cannot be overlooked by any organization.

Market Share of Indian Telecom Industry

Bharti Airtel continued to be the market leader even after Jio entered the market, the penetration pricing strategy of reliance Jio made it defeat its close competitor Bharti airtel. Airtel managed to continue with its position in the telecom market by introducing cashback on the night usage of data. Jio made it to the second position after Vodafone- Idea, the first position remains with Vodafone- idea as their merger eliminated the competition and challenged other operators. In lieu of this competition in the telecom market, the consumers enjoyed free data and calling facilities with night and day packs. On comparing the big giants with the small operators (others) the pricing is less in comparison to the top four, this indicates the effective pricing strategies adopted by reliance defeating the market of the existing small operators.
